PEI is committed to empowering Community Midwives (CMWs) to enhance maternal healthcare in
underserved areas by creating income-generating opportunities and operationalizing safe birthing
stations at the village level. This initiative aims to improve access to safe maternal care while equipping
CMWs with the necessary skills through comprehensive training and capacity-building support.
Concurrently, PEI provides crucial aid and support to crisis-affected communities, delivering emergency
relief and rebuilding efforts. This includes immediate assistance such as food, water, shelter, and
medical supplies, followed by rehabilitation efforts to restore infrastructure and livelihoods. Specialized
healthcare services tailored to maternal and child health needs, along with psychosocial support, further
strengthen community resilience in times of crisis. Through these integrated approaches, PEI endeavors
to foster sustainable recovery and resilience among vulnerable populations.
