PEI's initiative in District Jacobabad-Uncovered Area focuses on reducing stunting and malnutrition
through the engagement of Community Health Workers (CHWs). Working closely with various sectors
and partners, including Local Health Workers (LHWs), the District Nutrition Committee, PPHI, and
sectors such as Health, WASH, and Agriculture, PEI aims to enhance nutrition outcomes. The project
includes capacity-building activities for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), parent groups, and
CHWs. It facilitates referrals to nutrition facilities and promotes breastfeeding and complementary
feeding practices through collaborations with Mother Support Groups, Traditional Birth Attendants
(TBAs), Community Midwives (CMWs), and school teachers. Activities such as cooking demonstrations
and sessions on healthy foods are conducted to disseminate nutrition, hand washing, hygiene, and
deworming messages effectively.
